Hi Wally- here is a page from the daily log of Sergeant Major John McMurphy of the Royal Engineers, who was the overseer for the R.E's during the building of the road from Lillooet to Soda Creek, 1862 and 1863. I think it is the only mention he makes of the mile posts. - Branwen
